Grammy voting is officially underway, and before we know it, we’ll be celebrating Music’s Biggest Night once again. The 2027 Grammy Awards are on the horizon, and after a packed year for music, African artists are eyeing Grammy gold.

Ayra Starr’s Starrgirl has earned praise from critics and fans alike, while Asake’s M$NEY made its mark and inspired a successful, highly memeable tour. Meanwhile, Tyla could be in the running for her third Grammy, alongside other African stars hoping to make their mark on the Recording Academy.

But before the nominations come the submissions. African artists are throwing their hats into the ring, and we’ve sifted through the rumours, reports and claims circulating online to compile a list of the submissions linked to African artists ahead of the 2027 Grammys.

A note: Some of these submissions remain unverified. A Grammy submission does not guarantee a nomination or a win.
