Tyla, Rema to Perform at FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony

The football governing body, FIFA, has announced Tyla and Rema as part of the lineup for the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony. The African pop stars will perform alongside global music acts, including Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, and LISA.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature three separate opening ceremonies across the host nations. The celebrations begin on June 11 at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, while ceremonies in the United States and Canada are scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2026.

According to FIFA, the first ceremony will take place before the tournament opener between Mexico and South Africa. The event will feature performances from J Balvin, Maná, Alejandro Fernández, and Tyla.

On Friday, June 12, the United States opening ceremony will hold at Los Angeles Stadium with performances from Katy Perry, Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla. Meanwhile, the ceremony at Toronto Stadium will feature Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, and Sanjoy.

Gianni Infantino said the lineup reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the global reach of music.

“The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together,” Infantino stated.
