International Celebrities Who Visited Africa in December 2025

Africa is fast becoming the place to be for December celebrations. The 2025 Christmas season saw a surge of global stars making appearances across several countries. At one point, it felt like nearly every Black Diaspora celebrity was on the continent.

Here’s a look at the international celebrities who touched down in Africa during December 2025

Ayo Edebiri

Ayo Edebiri’s appearance in Nigeria came as a surprise to many. Although she’s Nigerian by heritage, she was born and raised in the United States. Her arrival was not announced on social media. Instead, Nigeria woke up to the news that she had landed. Still, hers was not the only unexpected visit last December.

India Amarteifio

Shortly after, India Amarteifio, who played Queen Charlotte in the popular series Bridgerton, also arrived in Nigeria for the Christmas season. During her stay, India and Ayo were seen spending time together, alongside actor Toheeb Jimoh.

Gunna

Meanwhile, Gunna’s December visit marked the start of his African tour. He performed at the Lagos Detty December Festival on December 29, with follow-up shows scheduled in South Africa in the new year.

IShowSpeed

Another major name who started an African tour is IShowSpeed. He officially kicked off his Speed Does Africa tour in South Africa, where he also celebrated the New Year.

Wale

The Nigerian-American rapper also made his way to Lagos for Detty December. Following the release of his Afrobeats-inspired album Everything Is a Lot, Wale headlined his first major show in Nigeria, marking a full-circle moment with local fans.

Shenseea

Shenseea joined the growing list of international stars who touched down in Nigeria for Detty December. Ahead of her arrival in Lagos, the Jamaican hitmaker playfully told fans what she expected from the experience. Gold, luxury, and premium vibes only.

Busta Rhymes

Busta Rhymes reminded fans that he is still a force to reckon with by headlining shows in Nigeria and Ghana during December 2025. Notably, the rapper returned to Ghana after 15 years to perform at Rhythm and Brunch.

DDG

After a year-long back-and-forth between DDG and Nigerian fans online, the streamer and rapper finally touched down in Nigeria this December.

French Montana

French Montana also made headlines after returning to home country, Morocco to perform at the AFCON 2025 opening ceremony. The rapper behind the global hit Unforgettable joined several stars connected to the tournament.

This edition of the Africa Cup of Nations attracted its share of celebrities. Football legends, both past and present, were spotted in stadiums across Morocco, watching matches live.

The French football legend was seen in the stands supporting his son, who plays for the Algerian national team.

Kylian Mbappé

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé was also spotted at AFCON matches. Alongside French teammates Jules Koundé and Aurélien Tchouaméni, he attended the Côte d’Ivoire versus Cameroon clash.

Eduardo Camavinga

In addition, Eduardo Camavinga visited his native Angola with plans for a long-term project. The football star intends to invest in the country by building a football academy and a school. His goal is to develop future football talent while offering young people in Angola educational and personal development opportunities.
