SEUN KUTI & EGYPT 80 Give Recorded Life to Their Viral Live Hit “Na Dem” Featuring Tom Morello

After spending the last year becoming a fan favourite on stage and social media, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80’s explosive anthem Na Dem is finally getting an official release on June 3rd. The new single, which features legendary guitarist Tom Morello, arrives after clips of the song’s live performances went viral online, thanks to footage shared by Coachella and fans across social media.

Due to this, even before it was recorded, “Na Dem” had already established itself as one of the standout moments in Seun Kuti’s live set and will definitely be a staple on his next tour.

The studio version reimagines the energy of the already viral live performance version with a fuller arrangement, anchored by Egypt 80’s signature groove and Morello’s unmistakable guitar work.

“I strongly wanted to collaborate with Tom Morello because he represents the ultimate expression of protest music,” says Seun Kuti. “Beyond any musical genre, we need artists like him. Just as my father did in the past and I do now, we need to convey messages that make listeners reflect.”

The release follows Seun Kuti’s critically acclaimed 2024 album, Heavier Yet (Lay The Crownless Head), a bold and expansive project that further cemented his reputation as one of Africa’s most vital musical voices. Heavier Yet (Lay The Crownless Head) featured collaborations with Damian Marley and Sampa the Great, while its deluxe edition had appearances from Pos (De La Soul), Adi Oasis, Kamasi Washington and Alborosie, alongside production contributions from Lenny Kravitz.

Na Dem” is expected to feature prominently throughout Seun Kuti & Egypt 80’s latest world tour, which kicked off in Barcelona on May 7, 2026. The run will take the band through the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand before heading to the United States for two special performances this fall: My Life in Movement on October 9 at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles, followed by a New York performance at Webster Hall on October 14. UK dates are yet to be announced.

Keep your eyes peeled for “Na Dem” out June 3rd!
